UrbaExtra.net is a website for inhabitants of Spanish urbanisations who are united in associations. UrbaExtra.net facilitates the association's officers with services like:
Furthermore, Urbaextra.net aims to unite the many associations to create a political lobby for problem solving.
UrbaExtra.net was founded by Albert J. Bausch, pensionated entrepreneur from the Netherlands, living in Altea la Vella. As new board member of the Association Urbanistica Colaboradora El Paradiso, he was confronted with chaos in membership records and lack of reliable information resulting in unpaid membership fees and low confidance and coherence among members.
After setting up UrbaExtra.net/paradiso, Albert started gathering correct contact information of the members, including addresses abroad and e-mail addresses.
The next step was the automated billing system, with indirect result that the notorious bad payers could be addressed more directly via e-mail and in person.
A very important success factor is the news area on the website. In six month time many members were informed about important issues. It helped the urbanisation to timely block some measures that were planned by constructors and the local government. The success of the Paradiso approach attracted other urbanisations who are willing to collaborate in a unified approach.
The future plans:
-Delivering news letters by e-mail to news subscribers (house owners, family, holiday visitors).
-Facilitating added value services such as wireless internet, SMS-alerts and neighbourly assistance against burglary.
